The Triplets 2nd Birthday

All honour and praise to the Almighty God, my jewels are 2 years old, how time flies,  its just like yesterday.
On that day,  we went to church first for the normal Wednesday service, then we went to play zone in ikeja shopping mall, to have fun and before you know it,
Money don finish!!!!!! Lol
Im very happy they had fun

Yippy! The Triplets go to school

Hello everyone,  I know you guys have missed me. I have been so busy with school runs.
The Triplets have started school, the first day was all cries.
When I went to pick them, they had knocked out before we got home. ....hahaha
im so happy now at least I have a little time to do my own runs.
This is how I run my things every weekday
Irrespective of the fact that I have two maids, it isnt easy,
I wake up 5:30am, I go to straight to the kitchen to prepare their school lunch and breakfast for Babametta, that takes me minimum of 30 minutes, on tge other side my maids are doing the house cleaning, once its 6am I start to bathe and dress up for them, meanwhile my maids are making their food and feeding them one after the other, latest by 7am we are ready, then I put on my gym gear.
By 7:30 latest we drop them at school.
Yippy!!!! Its me time for the next few hours
Chai! Its not easy to loose weight oh as the saying goes "NO PAIN NO GAIN"
So im "werking" it.
So watch this space, il show you how im making progress as the days go by.

Being a Triplet Mommy Part 2

Whew! It's been a few days, I have been so busy, I haven't been able to post anything, asides being Mammametta, I have started a small JEWELRY BUSINESS, strictly ONLINE sales, so I have been trying to put that In place.
Ok, now I want to try and conclude my last post, on Tips and Tricks,
We have talked about Pregnancy, and a little of birth
Ok, after birth which was through a cesarean operation, you have to be strong, get up the next day because, the earlier you get up and start moving around, the faster you will heal. I remember I got up the next day, not because I was a superwoman but because I had to take care of my little ones.
NURSING
At this stage, dealing with multiple birth, the things you have to consider are, how to survive caring for them without breaking down because, multiple children mothers are more prone to post pregnancy depression, because of the stress.
Firstly, get enough help, this is no time for shakara, when friends family and neighbors offer to help, you should gladly accept, you can use that opportunity to take a little nap. I was so lucky to have family and friends around me, especially my neighbor "aburo", her name is Edith, we all call her SHIRI, she is such an angel, in short she's the triplets second mum. And my sis in-law Big Mummy, she lived with me for a whole year, and I was also lucky to have good house maids.
Secondly, if planning to breast feed, make sure you have enough pillows so that you can feed, at a time, drink plenty of water, get a breast pump for pumping, either manual or electric, so that if you are tired people can help you feed your babies expressed milk. I had a special U shaped pillow, that could help me with feeding two at a time, and had enough pillows to support the back.
The best time to express milk is  between 3 and 5 am, at that time you get lots of milk, because the body is rested.
Thirdly, make sure you know your child, study your child well to know their different habits, one thing is every child is different so you can't expect the same thing from each child. In my case, the first triplet was tiny and was finding it difficult to suck well, he was always grunting, I used to be worried, but i realized because he was so so small he was trying to cope, so I had to be patient with him. Also study them to notice any changes, illness, e.t.c
Even when they are taking different steps like, sitting, crawling, walking, they don't have to do it at the same time, patience is all you need. Every child is different.
The Fourth thing to consider is shopping, if God gives you the grace, just buy everything in bulk, it will be cheaper for you, for me I get more discounts if I buy in bulk, it saves me money and stress.
The Fifth thing is to indulge them, probably with the Television, in my case I used to put them infront of the television at least to keep them busy and distracted so I can have a little rest too, or have time to PING a little......lol
You will see they will start getting used to some particular programs, and would be excited anytime they watch it.
The sixth thing to consider is feeding Time, Make sure you program them to all eat at the same time or else one can die of exhaustion oh! I first started with the 3 hourly feeds, then 2 hourly, I made sure I put breast feeding in the plan and lo give them randomly. Most times after feeds, they sleep, at least il have time to wash or sleep or anything I need to do. In short make sure they do everything at the same time.
The seventh thing is, remember your husband , I know stress and all can keep you from attending to him, but the equation has to be balanced. My hubby tells me, O'seun don't try to impress me, so far my children are ok, I am ok, they are priority for now. And i will be like no! It's not like that bla bla bla! . Anyways, he understood what I was going through, and was very considerate, Kudos to Babametta, okunrin metta.......lol
Lastly, don't forget to appreciate everybody that's helping you, and encourage them because it's not easy for people to leave their livelihood just to come and help you, Nobody owes you anything. I must say I was blessed to have such beautiful people around me.
And to pray for strength, wisdom, grace to train them right.
God Bless You.

Being a Triplet Mommy

Today, I have decided to share some Tips and Tricks from my own experience, to mothering triplets.
This is a transition process, from pregnancy to birth, to nursing, till when they become independent.
My friend Akin Gave me this idea and I believe a lot if intending triplet mums will benefit from this too
Please get ready for my story telling again.........LOL

PREGNANCY
Hmmmm... I remember, sometimes in April 2011, I was already pregnant, I went for a transvaginal scan and the doctor said " i see three sacks" and he showed me and I saw 3 black dots, I actually didn't understand until he told me " madam, you are having triplets" . I was shocked and excited at the same time, my mind just kept racing here and there, I was imagining many things, when I got home I told my hubby, he was so excited , I then asked him "are you not scared" he laughed and said "why should I be scared, God will not give you what he knows you are not capable of handling" i agreed with him. We then celebrated.

The first thing I did was to browse the Internet, I did a lot of research, on how to survive and cope with this multiple pregnancy, thanks to Google, I got so many sites, I read pregnancy books, and they really helped me to understand my body change.
I had morning sickness too, but mine was in 3 folds, I Stayed away from sweet foods like chocolate, fizzy drinks( which were my specialty before ) no drinking of tea, coffee, no drinks or fruits that contain aspartame( orange, pineapple, citrus fruits) because they could induce labour.

The second thing was not to listen to all what so many people had to say, because everybody just wanted to give advice, or tell you what to do and how to carry the pregnancy, I know they meant well so all I did was nod and agree, but in my mind, I knew what I what I was doing.....lol
I remember, when I used to go for antenatal, they will say I should come for exercises, and I had read that women carrying multiple pregnancy shouldn't do rigorous exercise, better still should avoid it, I used to run away and come back when it's over.......lol

The third thing I noticed was the fast change in my belly, which should be expected, my belly grew big fast, at 3 months I was already looking like 5 months.........lol

I had a little experience when i was 10 weeks pregnant, that I still marvel at God's grace in my life,
On this day, my driver received his salary and decided to go get drunk, I took the car from him and decided to drive home from work, I was still with Globacom then, I left my office at around 9 pm, I was in traffic for about 4 hours, I had to stop on the road to ease myself after holding it for too long, I didn't get home till like 12:30, I was so tired, and I slept, I woke up at about 5am to urinate and I felt a chunk of blood drop out of me, it was like my whole world had crumbled. I called my hubby, I told him what happened and we called the doctor, the doctor said I should be on bed rest, it was election day,no movement, we had no choice but to hope and pray.
I stayed on bed rest till Monday, because my doctor was out of town, so all we relied on between Saturday and Monday morning was God.........lol
When I got to the hospital, the doctor performed the scan himself, he said my babies were fine. I jumped for joy, I wept for joy........ MAY OUR EXPECTATIONS NOT BE CUT SHORT IN JESUS NAME, AMEN.
MAY OUR JOY NOT BE TURNED INTO SORROW IN JESUS NAME, AMEN.
I learnt a lot, from this little experience, it was God's grace that I didn't have a miscarriage. Don't start behaving like a SUPERWOMAN, you are carrying multiple children you have to be careful, if possible don't drive, don't stress yourself.

The fourth thing is my medications, I took them everyday, I hated medications but I just knew I had to take them, not for me but for the babies, don't say they make you vomit or it's irritating you, remember you have plenty heads, legs, eyes, hands, e.t.c that you want to be properly formed.
I didn't take agbo (herbal drugs) reason being I don't know what was mixed, I just didn't want to take any risks.

The fifth thing I did was a cervical cerclage also known as a cervical stitch, is used for the treatment of cervical incompetence (or insufficiency), [1] a condition where the cervix has become slightly open and there is a risk of miscarriage because it may not remain closed throughout pregnancy. Usually this treatment would be done, in the second trimester of pregnancy, for a woman who had either suffered from one or more miscarriages in the past, or is carrying multiples.)
Culled from Wikipedia

The sixth thing, is I always went for my antenatal check ups, for me it was every 2 weeks, for other pregnant women it was monthly, I used to ask lots of questions, I'm sure my doctor was tired, I listened to heartbeats too. That was really fun.
The seventh thing I did was to prepare my mind for delivery, I knew it was going to be through ceaserian section (CS) I watched videos online, and I also checked the sex of my babies, although they may have been wrong, but I checked so I could know how to shop for them.
And lastly , Prayer , hmmmmmm it only God that started it and I relied on him to finish his work, I prayed endlessly.
My pregnancy was a great experience, a memory to behold. I pray many of you experience better ones in Jesus name.

The "3" Factor

Being a triplet mum, I always enjoy the "3" factor, what I really mean is the Favours and blessings that come with it.
Every where I go with my 3 soldiers, we all ways pull crowd, and people are always ready to help us.
I remember when we were preparing to come to nigeria from the Uk and I wanted to get their documents, normally it could take weeks or months but I was lucky to get them in a few hours. There are so many favours oh, infact sometimes people I don't know dash them money and gifts. Its such a beautiful experience.
Another thing of the "3" factor is everything you buy has to be three, you just have to buy 3 except you want them to quarrel
We didn't get other colors for the boys we just had to buy this, I'm sure they will yab me later......lol
Chez balling on their high chair

Riding in their walkers! I bought 1 at first thinking the would share, but when I saw how they struggled for it, I decided to buy two more
No sleeping on daddy and mums bed till you grow, like everyone does....how do 3 babies sleep In between mum and dad....lol
hmmm! That's our Big Mummy in this picture, she stayed with me for a whole year, she's a life saver.
Yay! It's potty training time! They love music so I had to buy the singing ones, they get music rewards after every poooo........lol
We are ready for school...........these were lovely gifts from their birthday
And definitely 3 cakes on their first year birthday! Hmmm I forgot to gist you of their birthday, don't worry my next post will be about their birthday.

So you can imagine, one hen they are 21, by Gods grace, we have to buy 3 cars too, and we have to work hard too to build 3 houses too for them .......lol Just kidding!
May God continue to give us the grace and the means to provide our children and give them the best life they deserve. Amen

Why I started blogging

A lot of people ask me why I'm blogging and writing the history of my life on my blog,
Ok, let me tell you, I have found my self in a position I never imagined i will ever be. So I decided to share my experience, and encourage women too.
Did you know I waited for 7 good years before having this beautiful gifts from God. So I have decided to spread the good news.
As my pastor "Wole Oladiyun" of CLAM will say delay is not denial
So my dear awaiting mothers, I know the time of waiting can be rough, and hard, please still keep your head high, the God that answered me will surely bless you with your own bundles of joy.
My husband used to tell me why are you worried? Eyan kan o le bi omo tie mo ti won ( meaning nobody can give birth to your own children for you) my translation may be wrong, please Yoruba gurus, help me........lol
To tell you the truth, I have forgotten all the pain I went through during my waiting period, this can be your portion too.
Another reason I started blogging is out of boredom, I have been home taking care of the trio for 2 years now, no business, no work, so I'm exercising my brain, and also for fun, mee to I want to be like dem Linda ikeji and the likes.........lol
